Equestrian Christmas!

So people CONSTANTLY ask my parents what to get me for Christmas and I'm sure the same happens with you.... and you end it up getting some pretty weird things. Now most things in the equestrian world are expensive as we all know and I don't want my uncles and grandparents spending that much on me. Please don't get your fellow equestrians a saddle or things like that because there are things we have to consider such as proper fit, if it fits the rider and much more. Here are just a few cute things that are definitely needed by equestrians.... and highly wanted!

1. POLO WRAPS!!! I think polos are an AMAZING gift idea. One because they can be used in almost every discipline so you don't have to worry if they're western or English, they work for both. Polo's range in many varieties from solid colors all the way to crazy funky designs! I think polo's would be a great idea and equestrians will LOVE them!

2. Saddle crosses! These are so cute and are an amazing way to add a little something to your western saddle.

3. Jewelry. If its a female equestrian they well most likely love some equestrian jewelry such as leather bracelets with gold embroidered plaques or even just plain horse necklaces.

4. RIDING CLOTHES!! Fallon Taylor has an amazing clothing line with such cute shirts and things. I would definitely check into her line of clothing. Also any polo like shirts are an amazing gift for English riders. Different colors with a matching set of polo wraps would be a PERFECT gift.

5. SADDLE PADS! Now western saddle pads can be a bit more pricey but definitely English saddle pads for English riders are usually pretty cheap and so cute so a matching polo shirt, polo wraps and a saddle pad= PERFECT GIFT.

6. Sport boots or bell boots. These are great for us western riders where as we typically use these in competition for barrel racing, pole bending or anything that involves work that puts a lot of strain on the leg muscles and tendons.

7.Treats. Last but not least are horse treats. These are so handy and I really recommend these. They are just an amazing idea because I cant tell you how many times I get done riding or trick training and I'm out of treats. These are also great for a green horse in training or just any overall horses. Riders will definitely love this gift and it will most likely go to great use and will be really handy and needed.
                                                POLO WRAPS PRICE RANGE: $10-20
SADDLE CROSS PRICE: $20-30 DEPENDS ON TYPE.

DIY Christmas horse treats!!

Hey everybody so a little while back I was going through tumblr and found this recipe for DIY horse treats! They're really easy to make and I have made them before and my horses LOVED them so much. I'll definitely be making them again. Let's just go ahead and jump straight into how to make them!

You will need:
~Mixing bowl
~Measuring cups
~flour
~vegetable oil
~molasses
~old fashioned oats or just plain oats
~parchment paper or baking spray (I recommend parchment paper because the spray could be bad for your horse)
~PEPPERMINTS!!

Procedures:
~First off preheat your oven to 350 degrees (176 degrees Celsius if that's what you use)
~Put 1 cup of flour into your mixing bowl.
~ Add 1 cup of oats into the bowl with the flour.
~ 1 cup of molasses. Start with a half a cup and if the mixture is too dry when all the other ingredients are in add another half a cup.
~2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
~If you want you can crush peppermints and add them but I didn't. We'll get to what I did with them later.
~Now mix!!
~Next line a pan with parchment paper or spray it with baking spray. All personal preference.
~ Now here's where it gets MESSY! Dump your mixture into the pan. You could use a brownie pan and even it out but whatever you want. It does NOT have to take up the whole pan but make sure to even it out some. It will look like a mess but trust me it wont be at the end.
~ Wash your hands of course and then stick the mess into the oven, 350 degrees, for about 15 minutes. Keep an eye on until you think they're done.
~Once they're done, making sure not to do it RIGHT away, peel pieces off the pan and roll into balls. Make them big enough for a peppermint to fit on. if you do it like brownies just cut it like you would a brownie and sit them to the side.
~Press a peppermint into the top and Vuiola!

You are complete!! Horses love these and the peppermint makes it look even more Christmasey! These also would be a good gift idea to leave by your friends or everyone's stalls with a card and a few other cute things. Anyways I hope you try these!!

First post!!

Hi everybody! Welcome to my new blog! I have always wanted to have a blog to post about horses, diys, how to's and so much more!! I absolutely love blogs, reading them and I love writing. So here's a bit about me. My name is Carson and I'm 13 turning 14 in March. I have loved horses ever since I can remember and have rode since I was 4. When I was 4 I got a pony names Little foot and he was amazing but sadly he passed when I was 5. I didn't ride again until I was 7 and rode with the same coach I have now. When I was 8 I got a horse named Charlie. He coliced on August 12th 2012. When I was almost 9 I started riding again on a horse named Skyuka and I loved him but I was soon switched to her newest horse, Leroy. Now I loved Leroy SO MUCH! He was my best friend and I fell in love with him the first time I rode him. My sister bought him for me and I had him until I was 10. I was away at the beach one week and my uncle was feeding him. After a big storm my uncle found him in the pasture passed away sadly. I then started riding at a new place when I was 11 and rode there for a year and a half. I left it and took about 1 English lesson but immediately went back to western because I missed barrel racing. I rode there until I bought my wonderful horse that I won now..... Daisy. At the time I was already owning Moonpie since I was like 11 and I had a horse named Poky but we sold her because even my coach couldn't train her. I left the barn I was riding at for varius reasons and started showing on Daisy. I'm still showing on her and she is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Here's a little about her.

Heres Charlie btw https://www.instagram.com/p/u0oKChMAR2/

Daisy is a 17 year old palomino quarter horse born on April 15th 1998. She may be older but she can still run and loves her job. I got her on February 16th 2014. She is a brat sometimes but I still love her to death. She's the biggest brat in winter by the way. Every time I ask her to lope, for about the first 3 times I'll ask her, she thinks she ahs to buck and act crazy. Here's 2 pics of her...

Moonpie on the other hand is an 7 year old bay quarter horse born on March 27th 2008. He is currently green and in training but is very smart. He catches on to things quickly. He is up to walk and jog right now but we're soon to lope. Next year he'll be showing in halter with us. He loves being around people and loves snuggles. He will walk up to you and stick his head out like he's giving kisses too. He is a HUGE fan of food. He also loves doing tricks such as smiling, hugs and kisses. Here's some pics...
